Venmo Offers Integrated and Authorized Payment Facilities

Venmo is a mobile application for digital payments. It limits the transaction process within the United States only. Android or Iphone users can download the Venmo app for easy and safe transactions in the US. This payment gateway can be used for online and in-store purchase. It mandates a Venmo account to use its well-integrated payment interface.

Step 1 - Check Eligibility Factors to Use Venmo for Your Online Payment

Location: You have to reside within the territory of the United States of America.

Age: Your age needs to be at least 18 years or the age of the majority of the US state in which you reside.

Other credentials: You must have a US-based cell phone number for mobile verification. The number should be active to send and receive text messages.

Stet 2 - Download the Venmo Mobile Application

Download the latest version of the Venmo mobile application to access its online payment facilities. The app is available for Android and iPhone users. You can use a web version of the app to sign up while using a computer.

Step 3 - Create a Venmo Account

Business owners and customers have unique account settings in Venmo. Choose a personal profile to use Venmo for your online payment purposes. On the other hand, a business profile allows online transactions for merchants. Enter your details and verify your phone number and email ID. After this, you will have to add your bank account and verify the same. After successful verification, your account will be ready to send or receive payments. Venmo does not have a Windows version of its application. Hence, you can use its web page to sign up from a computer.

Step 4 - Select Venmo for In-Store or Online Purchase

In-store purchase: To make an in-store payment, open your Venmo profile and scan the shop's QR code. Check the total payable amount and select a payment method to checkout.

Online purchase: For online payment, connect your Venmo account to the shopping site by selecting Venmo for the payment. This will redirect you to the app for authorization of your payment. Recheck the payable amount and choose the payment method. You can disconnect your Venmo account anytime from a shopping site.

For this, go to the ‘Me’ tab on the app, select ‘settings’, view connected merchants, select the one you want to disconnect, and tap ‘disconnect’.

Step 5 – Pay Using Your Preferred Payment Method

Venmo offers a range of payment options. You can avail of different facilities based on your requirements and preferences.

Venmo Balance: You can add money to your Venmo account from your bank by entering the bank details or using a debit card. This money can be used while paying online from your Venmo balance.

Bank Transfer: Venmo allows direct bank transfers from your account while paying online. Your bank account needs to be connected to your Venmo profile for this.

Linked Payment: A prepaid card, debit card, or credit card can be linked to your Venmo account. This allows you to use these cards to make the payment through Venmo.

QR Code: You can scan the merchant’s QR code during an in-store or online shopping. For this, open the Venmo app, select the ‘Me’ tab and then select the ‘QR Code’ option. Use a mobile device for in-store payment. You can view the QR code on a laptop or desktop screen and scan using a mobile to checkout for an online shopping.
