Offers Integrated and Authorized Payment Facilities
Venmo is a mobile application for digital payments.
It limits the transaction process within the United States only. Android or
Iphone users can download the Venmo app for easy and safe transactions in the
US. This payment gateway can be used for online and in-store purchase. It
mandates a Venmo account to use its well-integrated payment interface.
Step 1 - Check Eligibility
Factors to Use Venmo for Your Online Payment
● Location: You
have to reside within the territory of the United States of America.
● Age: Your
age needs to be at least 18 years or the age of the majority of the US state in
which you reside.
● Other credentials:
You must have a US-based cell phone number for mobile verification. The number
should be active to send and receive text messages.

Download the Venmo Mobile Application
Download the latest version of the Venmo mobile
application to access its online payment facilities. The app is available for
Android and iPhone users. You can use a web version of the app to sign up while
using a computer.
Step 3 - Create a
Venmo Account
Business owners and customers have unique account
settings in Venmo. Choose a personal profile to use Venmo for your online
payment purposes. On the other hand, a business profile allows online
transactions for merchants. Enter your details and verify your phone number and
email ID. After this, you will have to add your bank account and verify the
same. After successful verification, your account will be ready to send or
receive payments. Venmo does not have a Windows version of its application.
Hence, you can use its web page to sign up from a computer.
Step 4 - Select
Venmo for In-Store or Online Purchase
● In-store purchase: To
make an in-store payment, open your Venmo profile and scan the shop's QR code.
Check the total payable amount and select a payment method to checkout.
● Online purchase: For
online payment, connect your Venmo account to the shopping site by selecting
Venmo for the payment. This will redirect you to the app for authorization of
your payment. Recheck the payable
amount and choose the payment method. You
can disconnect your Venmo account anytime from a shopping site.
● For
this, go to the ‘Me’ tab on the app, select ‘settings’, view connected
merchants, select the one you want to disconnect, and tap ‘disconnect’.
Step 5 – Pay Using
Your Preferred Payment Method
Venmo offers a range of payment options. You can avail of different facilities based on your requirements and preferences.
Venmo Balance: You can add money to your Venmo account from your bank by entering the bank details or using a debit card. This money can be used while paying online from your Venmo balance.
Bank Transfer: Venmo allows direct bank transfers from your account while paying online. Your bank account needs to be connected to your Venmo profile for this.
Linked Payment: A prepaid card, debit card, or credit card can be linked to your Venmo account. This allows you to use these cards to make the payment through Venmo.
QR Code: You
can scan the merchant’s QR code during an in-store or online shopping. For
this, open the Venmo app, select the ‘Me’ tab and then select the ‘QR Code’
option. Use a mobile device for in-store payment. You can view the QR code on a
laptop or desktop screen and scan using a mobile to checkout for an online
shopping.
