Expigment Cream 2% is a topical skin medication that is used to lighten areas of darken skin such as freckles, age spots, chloasma and melisma. Expigment Cream works by decreasing the formation of melanin in the skin. Melanin is the pigment in the skin that gives it the brown color. Expigment Cream also has another AF version of the cream that contains sunscreen.
The common side effects may include minor skin redness or a mild burning sensation. The serious side effects may include:
Blue-black skin color;
Blisters;
Itching;
Swelling of eyelids, face, or lips
You should not use this medication if you are allergic to Hydroquinone or Peroxide. Before you start using this medication, talk to your doctor about your medical conditions and about all the medications you are currently taking including OTC and herbal medications. It is unknown whether Hydroquinone topical will harm an unborn baby. It is unknown whether Hydroquinone topical passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing baby. This medication should not be used by anyone under 12 years old without a doctor’s advice.
